New Brunswick Police Department > New Brunswick Police Department - Operations

Welcome to Police Operations

The Operations Division is the largest division and the core of the New Brunswick Police Department. Officers assigned to the Operations Division provide the initial response to calls for service, crimes in progress, preliminary criminal investigations, special event planning and are the officers primarily responsible for the enforcement of the New Jersey motor vehicle laws. As the police department’s uniformed first responders, members of the Operations Division are the police officers that our city residents are most likely to interact with on a daily basis.

The patrol officers are the New Brunswick Police Department’s front line in the fight against crime. These officers and supervisors provide service and protection to all our city residents and visitors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patrol officers utilize marked patrol cars, motorcycles, MP3 scooters, ATV’s, bicycles and foot patrols to monitor our city streets.

The Operations Division always takes significant pride in providing the most highly trained and well equipped professionals who effectively handle all requests for service to our community. Because of our highly qualified personnel, we are able to provide competent, effective and reliable service to all residents and visitors of the city of New Brunswick.
